Dawn & Maddie Hayley & Maddie
'Angel Horse' is a small mum and daughter team based in Derbyshire, England, UK.
Mum, Dawn, and her daughter Hayley have loved and been around horses most of their lives. In the 'early days' they rode at local riding schools, when funds would allow, and helped out with friends horses in exchange for rides.
Hayley was the competitive one ... a keen member of the local Pony Club Centre, and always saving her pocket money towards her next lesson or favourite 'must have' horsey treat!
Dawn, on the other had, was happy to potter about the yard and be a happy hacker around the local countryside ... very happy indeed to leave the jumping and speed to the younger ones!
They always dreamed of having their own horses but the dream, frustratingly, never happened.
Then, in April 2008, circumstances changed, and along came a very special grey mare who changed their lives forever.
That mare was Maddie who, because of her love, gentleness, and ability to help make others feel better, very soon became known as 'The Angel Horse'.
Dawn and Hayley were confident they had the knowledge and understanding to care for Maddie, however, little did they know that Maddie had been sent to them to change their worlds forever!
Dawn and Hayley thought they knew how to ride horses, how to care for a horse,
when to get the vet and what to do in any number of 'horsey situations' ...... and, on the face of it, yes they did .. but ..... oh dear ... !!!!
As it turned out they soon found out that their knowledge was of little use to
such a special horse as Maddie.
The thing that makes the 'Angel Horse Story' so different to other horse stories is that, instead of fitting their horses to their curcumstances, Dawn and Hayley quickly realised that although they were knowedgeable .... there was much much more for them to learn.
Maddie showed them a better way to be around horses ... she showed them how to be the best people they could be for her. And it worked!
Dawn and Hayley learned so much from Maddie and put it into practice ... even when others openly scoffed and scorned at them for trying new things.
They soon recognised that the lessons Maddie was teaching them served not just her, but all horses, and so they changed their 'people habits' accordingly.
They believed in their horse and did what she said ..... and very quickly Dawn and Hayley learned the difference between knowledge and wisdom
One of the things they learnt was about Rhythm Beads .They soon found out how not only Maddie, but other horses loved them too! Dawn & Hayley went from using a bought set of beads to designing and making their own.
In doing so they have met hundreds of new people, and their horses, from all parts of the world!
Angel Horse Beads have spread their Angel Wings and have not only flown all over the UK, they are now proudly jingling around the necks of horses as far away as Spain, Greece, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and all over the USA!
The people contacting Angel Horse for beads invariably share their own stories with Dawn and Hayley and vice versa. They shared all of the tears and the laughter, the good times and the bad that being part of the wonderful world of Equus brings.
Dawn and Hayley were able to pass on the amazing things they learned from Maddie to other people, and their horses, as well as learn from them too.
Sadly, beautiful Maddie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in November 2010. What a hard time that was for us here at Angel Horse. But, unbeknown to anyone else, Maddie, being Maddie,
had already lined up two more beautiful Angel Horses, Paddy and Button, to fill her hoofboots!
Dawn and Hayley continue to make their Rhythm Beads and the list of new Angel Horse clients, and their happy horses, grows longer each day!
'Angel Horse' have now branched out into making 'people jewellery' too so now you can
have your jewellery made to match your horses ! How cool is that? !!!
